Compliments of the new season. Ngwaga
o mosha!!
We have just entered into a very
important year for our school. I say important because our school celebrates
the 10th Anniversary of its existence. At this juncture, our Rugby
team – The Jaguars embarks on the tour to Wales, in the United Kingdom on the
18th of February. This is a milestone for our school and indeed our
country. I would like to appreciate you- the parents- for your efforts in
fundraising and paying for your ward to be part of the tour. My appreciation
also goes to the school which has massively subsidised this tour to be a
success especially under the prevailing inflationary environment against the British
Pound.
Twenty-six students and four staff
members will make-up the Tour Party to Wales. The Managing Director of the
school, Mr Gary Wills will lead the travelling team together with me and two of
our technical staff. I have attached an updated itinerary of the activities
scheduled for the tour. Many, many thanks go to our friend Jeff Heasman who,
despite his work commitments, has been running around to put up an exciting and
very educational line-up of world-class activities for this tour.
As we make the final preparations
for this tour, please take note of the following details:
1. The
following paperwork is needed by the 30th of January -For all the students who are
under the age of 18,
a) Both parents of the child should
prepare affidavits (Police) which give the school express permission to travel
with your child to the UK via South Africa between the 18th of
February till the 1st of March 2016
b) Where one spouse is deceased a certified
copy of death certificate should be provided and where the parents are divorced
then a Court judgement giving one spouse express custody of the child should be
provided
c) Certified copies of Omang or
passport for both the parents/guardians.
d) If the child is under the custody
of a guardian, then the legal papers to support this should be provided.
e) A signed indemnity form from the
school.
2. The weather in the UKis expected
to be very cold, wet and even snowy at the time of the tour. You are advised to
provide warm clothing for your ward.
3. Luggage- Your child should carry
only two bags. One hand luggage to put toiletry and small stuff and one big bag
that will be provided by the sponsor to put their spare clothes and kit.
4. Visas – We have confirmed with
the British High Commission that all Batswana and Namibian citizens on this
tour will not need Visas to enter into the United Kingdom. Only the Indian and
Zimbabwean citizens on this tour will need Visas. I have since spoken to the
affected individuals.
I am pleased to announce to you
that the University of Central Florida (USA) has sponsored our team with a
playing kit. We have therefore taken advantage of their presence in the country
to plan the farewell event for the travelling team.
Therefore
on the 26th of January 2016, LKC will host a Farewell Event and
Rugby Kit Presentation Ceremony for the Rugby team at 1430hrs in the Main
school Hall.
We have invited the Deputy British High Commissioner, our sponsors, members of
the media, BRU representatives, BNSC representatives and other important people
to be part of this event. ALL PARENTS
ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND. After this event we will have a short briefing with
you- the parents.
Last but not least, our boys have
had a very enriching two weeks of holiday training and it is our hope that they
will be good ambassadors and will make you, the school, and the country proud.
I wish you all a prosperous 2016.
With my best wishes,
F. Mutenheri
